Vets in perspective

Hi, Campers,

To put this discussion into some sort of perspective, I remember reading
right here on ridecamp where someone called a vet to come and geld a few of
her colts. The vet said (I paraphrase) "Oh, no, I don't work on horses.
They're much too dangerous. You can get hurt working on horses."
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what a pansy!!

And....talk to any dairy man, or even better, someone who raises pigs. (if
you can get near them...). You can't imagine the trouble they have getting a
vet sometimes. Most vets, these days, seem to be either strictly small animal
or horses. Period.
So when I have problems with Jordan (knock wood, it's been two years) I am
blessed with being able to punch the memory button and Dr. Mike answers and
is very happy to come out and take my money after working on my horse. At
least I have a vet!!

Michelle and Jordan (something's messed up here, mom. Every time Dr. Mike
shows up, you smile and I get stuck. I want to see it the other way around
for once.)
