So far, most CC supplementation has been done at a paste or slurry 
concentration. It has worked. But the next consideration is combining 
hydration with a carbohydrate--and electrolytes. This is where things can get 
tricky. Am conducting some trials in this area. will report back.

During exercise rides you can try to time the point at which the animal 
temporarily wants to bog down a little. Then, pre-feed the carb  for timeing 
to see if you can eliminate that blip. Once you zero in on the timing, it 
whould work well throughout the ride--it appears that these blips take place 
pretty regularly, at least in the low intensity work we've just tried.
