Depends on why they tie up.  I don't think it has a thing to do with those 
that are tying up due to selenium or calcium problems.  But for those with 
energy-related problems, one of the best people to explain the science about 
it is Beth Valentine at Oregon State.  On one end of the spectrum are the 
horses where Tom's carb approach is most applicable, and on the other end of 
the spectrum are the horses she is studying with polysaccharide storage 
problems that do far better on high-fat low-carb diets.
