Yes, and if you read "Drinkers of the Wind" he tells about his quest for the
perfect arabian...spent a long time in the desert seeking them...and found out on
a trip out of the desert that the pretty horses he saw in the city look just like
the skinny, underfed, over-ridden and VERY courageous horses he rode in the
desert in his search.... just softer of flesh from being well-fed and
under-ridden.  An awesome and heart-warming book...
