To add to John & Sues post:
If you recommend 2-4oz every 2 hrs and you skipped a dose because of a ve=

seem ignorant or redundant) How long before the ride do you start dosing?=

 you electroliting along with it?

Yes, you would get a valley of low blood glucose.A calming effect that would
be detrimental to performance--except that you can immediately solve that
problem right after the check with another dose.

It depends a lot on how hard the horse is working during the ride, too. In
UAE, we didn't experience the slow recoveries in any of the horses (18)--they
went through the checks with flying colors (one took Best Condition). but we
were using them hared during the race. this might be a factor--too much
left-over "juice" at the vet check.

We dosed two hours before the ride and right at the start of the ride, and
then as frequently as we could get to them during the ride--roughly every two
hours or less).
