Um, how about "The only thing anyone needs to know about prizes is that 
Mozart never won one?"  He did keep playing, and quite well, for years and 
years though . . .

<< I think the "To finish is to win" motto is a little limp. Especially when, 
in 
 any genuine sport, to win is to win. Therefore, I think we should have a 
 contest for the best new motto. For example, for half this group, the real 
 motto is To Win Is To Lose, or Winning Is For Losers. For another 
significant 
 portion, the motto is, To Show up Is To Win, or To Throw Up Is To Win, or To 
 Tie Up Is To Win, or To Want To Finish Is To Win.
 
 I'm sure we can all come up with something better than To Finish Is To Win.
