RE: Trade Show Donation?

To Teddy and every one else that is complaining about the $5 for entry to
the Trade Show (only for those NOT registered for the Convention).

Be aware, the donation will be collected! The monies WILL: be set aside for
the Trails Fund. The Financial Committee will oversee the disbursement of
the monies. The Trails Committee will look very seriously at who, why, when
and how the monies are utilized.

Now, the big joker in the pack is, WHAT DO THE MEMBERS WANT DONE???
What would you like to see done about trails Teddy? Lovell, what do you want
to see done? There are many ways to waste the fund and very few effective
ways. Are you all willing to have an online discussion about this? And I do
not mean a bitching contest. I am talking about a constructive discussion
held as intelligent adults. ( a sure conundrum if ever)

There are things such as lobbying, letter writing, national and regional
meetings to be selected, advertising for and against national, regional and
local policies; an entire spectrum of possible uses.

BUT IT TAKES ALL OF YOU WORKING ON IT! Just a few of us will be ineffective.
Are you willing to use some of the Trails Fund to assist Connie Berto in her
endeavors? How about some grants to a study by a university regarding
trails. How about the AERC setting up and sponsoring a symposium on trail
use/misuse? The opportunities are endless.

BUT WITH OUT ALL OF YOU WORKING TOGETHER THERE IS NOTHING.

Let's stop complaining and start planning for the work.
