It isn't exactly a feed of choice, but as a small part of the diet, it
certainly won't hurt them. It isn't uncommon to feed leftover bread to
horses in many parts of Europe. Most bread is primarily wheat (some have
other grains, too, obviously) so it is really just extremely processed grain.
It just isn't the most balanced and palatable grain for horses. Most
nutritionists that I've dealt with don't like to use wheat as more than about
a quarter of a given grain ration.
