Diesels save a tremendous amount on gas as they do not use gas!  Diesel is 
another type of fuel!
As for the 7 miles to the gallon, get used to it, as you get bigger trucks 
and more horses this will look like a bargain!
As for the 8 hour drive, this is endurance-driving and riding!
