RE: Another problem when it's time for shots



My thanks to everyone for your suggestions.  You've really given me ideas to
try.

And try I must.  This past week the vet came out to draw blood for another
another Lyme test (Cornell said the first was "negative, with reservations"
and recommended that we re-test).  I let the barn owner/manager and the vet
schedule it for a day when I couldn't be there, and I'll never do that
again.  I'm told that he tried to cow kick the vet.  Didn't see it myself,
so I don't know exactly what happened.  He's NEVER done anything like that
before.

I definitely have to figure out a way to handle shots in the future.  He's
evidently come to associate the pain of an injection with the vet coming
into his stall, so perhaps another location would be better.  And
distracting him with some sweet feed.  And my presence.
