One more saddle question
Okay, I have finally decided to order a saddle. I have decided color
(black), style (endurance), but still have to decide what kind of rigging I
want. Sigh. A year ago I didn't even know what rigging was or that this was
a decision I had to make. I have used mainly saddles with conventional
rigging, but the saddle I am ordering comes with "center-fire" or 7/8
rigging. Is 7/8 rigging the same as conventional rigging? If so, are there
any advantages to having a center-fire rigging?
I am ordering the saddle for my new TWH mare if that makes any difference.
The saddle is from Liberty and is on their "Tennessean" tree. I have noticed
that my Billy Cook, while it fits okay, does impinge on her shoulders when
she gaits. Is that a result of the tree or the conventional rigging? Does
any one know or want to hazard an informed opinion for me?
