shoes/easyboots

good morning everyone!!  My question is concerning shoes.  I pan on
beginning to ride my 6 yr. old Arab mare in about one month- last month of
the pregnancy- finally!! Anyway, I plan in riding on the grass, and on the
dirt trails.   Does she need shoes?  they are soooo expensive!!  Can I just
get easyboots and put them on when I ride on the streets(rarely)?  

Thank you- I want what is best for her, but with the baby, money is
tight...
