Re: AERC LD's not counted by IAHA

Hmm,

It looks like AERC or at least AERC members who are also IAHA need
to do a little P/R here. Now that AERC has put in set standards for
LD's they should be on equal footing with 25 mile CTRs. The pace is
as fast as the novice level CTR pace and the horses are under even
more veterinary control (no one can even start an endurance hold
with a pulse of 18, but some CTR's will dock points but let the
horse continue on trail with an 18 pulse rate)
Of course if the 0-49 by-law remains with the rules to run around
the by-law for the 0-24 distances it might be a bit harder to argure
that AERC has a consistent standard for LD's and they should be
recognized by other groups but I hope that we will simply overturn
the by-law. We could always add a by-law to label 0-24 mile rides
as a unique category with the no mileage accumulation and all the
other special rules currently in place for the 0-24 distances.
