Longleaf

Whew. Still don't have my inbox cleaned out. Just wanted to say we got back 
from Longleaf safely. What a nice ride!!! I'd LOVE to bring a few miles of 
that good footing up our way. Ruth does an excellent job as RM. The weather 
was perfect too.
I missed most of the awards because Monte was in on a vet check.
I do know the last 2 who finished the 50 were Russell Brousard & JC 
somebody. The 'next to last" group was Janet Baldwin from OK, & Alice Smith 
from? & me (Nancy Mitts) from Missouri. Our ride time was about 7:40. I 
think there were only 13 in the 50, don't know who else finished or where.
I was so proud of my filly. She actually behaved & worked well even though 
we rode much of the ride alone. The time was the fastest I've asked her for. 
If she can maintain that pace for a 100 I'll be thrilled!!!
The 100 was won by Jim Wiseman in 13 something
Lawton Johnson fell victim to trail vandalism & ended up in the next county. 
Thanks to some locals out hunting (or something) he got back on course & 
still ended up 2nd. His horse's 1st 100. (Now THAT'S an endurance rider!)
3rd was Joe (Shay? that's how it sounded). His 1st 100 I think.
Last but not least was Monte Mitts & Racer.
7 started the 100.
