That's exactly what AERC has tried to do this past year.  That's what's on 
your ballot right now--whether to continue that new policy or to go "back" to 
having LD's be 25-35 miles.  I support having LD's be the latter, as I feel 
that AERC has no business in the "fun ride" business.  But unless the 
majority feels as I do, we WILL see 5-10 mile "sanctioned" rides.
