Joe Long's trail singing

Not sure if anyone mentioned Joe long's singing
on trail because I sorta skipped all of those messages.
But I have always remembered my first Old Dominion 55 as a novice
rider when his singing helped me.
I was trotting along a HOT sunny dirt road in the heat of the day and
along comes Joe on the 100, just moving right past me, singing
"Ride on the shady side, always on the shady side, ride on the shady
side of the road"... I'm sure you get the tune and the point.
I have always thought that was the nicest way to tell a clueless
novice endurance rider an important and quite obvious lesson.
