Alright Truman, wanting to secede had a tendency to be tied in with slave
ownership, and the mountains of East Tennessee weren't exactly
appropriate for cotton plantations.  (Darned good for training an
endurance horse though {throwing Steph an endurance bone there}. Can you
imagine if we'd won?  Having to get a stupid equine passport to go to
Kentucky???? >shudder<

The best guage of "Southerness" is the drawl.  Florida just didn't get
that.  By the way, one of my Alabama ancestors who fought for the South
must have voted against secession....he headed South as fast as he could
go and they caught him just in time to be drafted into a FLORIDA
regiment! >g<

I stick by my statement that Florida's a former part of Michigan.  I wish
I could sit on the side of I-75 and get a nickel from ever Michigan
vehicle headed straight for Florida.  They're going to visit their
reletives who were transported when the transformation occured.  All I
can figure is that God lost a bet with a Yankee or something and had to
move it.
