As a buyer, I have asked the question many times. I do expect a
knowledgeable seller to provide me with the information. From the
information I can conclude whether the horse has enough "substance" for
me. Personally, I like a horse with a lot of bone. Not height, not bulk,
but big bones and joints.

I too have noticed that some horses have bigger tendons then others. One
mare I rode for a while had "good" bone but her tendons were not nearly
as thick as my other horse, who was smaller in diameter. But the mare
was only starting out and did not have that much conditioning. I think
basically that big bones and big tendons go hand in hand. And I think
that bones and tendons do increase in size as conditioning increases
(over a period of years)
