Cell Phones - Communication Problems/Solutions

Dear Ridecampers,

Just wanted to send a heartfelt thanks to all of those who responded to my 
question in a positive manner. On the other hand, I was not prepared for a 
heated debate on the subject. For the record; Hubby and I decided to purchase a 
cell phone with the proviso that it was to be used for "emergencies" only. 
Reason being ------ he has heart disease.
