A couple of people asked me this question, so thought I'd explain. The
mare I purchased, Special, is very well trained. We rode on the right
(one experimental solution at a time or the results are tainted, right?).
When I first saw the car, we side passed to the left most of the way
across the road. Then started forward, but then went diagonally back to
our side of the road, then spun to face the car and began backing on a
diagonal back into the road. 'Course, we did this while the car(s) was
still some distance from us. Then reversed and started run-walking in
our own lane while I asked Special to give her head side to side. Poor
drivers couldn't tell WHAT we were doing or WHERE we were going next and
so passed veeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrryyyyyy slowly and carefully. I also
noticed that the whole routine was over-kill for *most* drivers. With
most drivers, the minute we began side passing, the driver backed way off
and slowed to almost a stop. The rest of the play-acting was for the
really obnoxious drivers.

Rhonda and Special -- hey, play time!
