Re: Re: girth problems



One of my horses periodically has scurffy girth area as well and it is
usually during the spring or fall "coat exchange".  I used to think it was
the girth and have tried all number of different ones including 2 brands of
neoprene, 3 different string girths, 2 different woven fabric, a fabric
lined with sheepskin girth (good one, but expensive and doesn't wear well),
a Toklait fleece, and presently a Toklait Woolback which is the best girth
for him.  However, even with the loose T. Woolback since last Sat's 50 he's
flaking off again.  Was not and is not now tender so I'm not too concerned
but it is interesting that everyone seems to get it along about this time of
year.
