Re: Re: Cass at Liberty Run

Of the two mares that I've started in endurance, neither did more than two
25's. I did two 25's with the first mare because *I* was just starting out,
and I did one 25 on the second mare because I wanted to just show her the
"process" of an endurance ride. It is my opionion that you can do 25's at
home! We generally ride about 18 - 22 miles every Saturday anyway.

I have never gone to a ride to race so my strategy is different than what
others may be doing. We ride 50's but we do them slowly. I have taken all
12 hours before! I recently completed my first 75 miler with a horse that
has done 50's and only one 25 miler.

Angie,
Why not do 25's. I have heard that a slow 50 on an easy trail is better
because the horse learns that this is a relatively LONG ride, learns to
drink on the trail and pace himself. Presumably you learn that too. What
do you think?
Go for it, you guys, I NEED ROLE MODELS.
