snaffle vs. kimberwicke
We had a discussion some time ago about bits, that I thought was very
enlightening. As I had been taught over the years that the snaffle was
the most gentle of bits. After attending a bitting clinic by Dale
Myler, the book is very informative also, and reading the posts on
ridecamp I began to feel that was maybe not quite true.
I was having a problem with my newly broke 4 yr old filly in the
snaffle, any little pressure and the head would fly up in the air. We
switched to a french link double jointed snaffle and all the difference
in the world. No more head tossing and now she is going along in a
better frame.
No one bit is right for every horse. Louise & Kaycee, thanks for
the new bit. WVa.
