EN/Ride Results

Is it really?  If that's the main purpose of the AERC, then I wonder why
I ever joined -- and why I should renew this year?  

I thought the main purpose of the AERC was to encourage endurance riding,
to provide a framework for horses and riders to safely participate in
endurance rides, to foster scientific research on equine/endurance issues,
trail preservation ... you know, all that silly stuff listed in the
"Purposes" section of the AERC Bylaws.

But then, maybe there's a difference between 'de facto' purpose and 'de
jure' purpose. :(
