I disagree.  A horse with thin hoof walls can only benefit from a shoe with
a wider web which is what Eventers have, plus the bevelled rim really helps
with breakover.  We use these shoes almost exclusively and they are
excellent support.  If you want a lighter shoe, try aluminum.  But a
narrower web would actually put more stress on the hoof wall.
