Re: Message Sent on Endurance Horses

Gail:
We are all entitled to our opinion--no flaming Gail Campers. As Heide pointed
out, <A HREF="http://www.endurance.net/sagehill/">Sagehill Arabians</A>,
professional breeders breed for specific traits. Those traits, conformation,
stamina, and temperament, came from their ancestors! Breeding and Bloodlines
count in my opinion! Now the earlier you purchase a horse from a breeder, the
more training and conditioning you can provide, will influence the purchase
price. I've known people to get the best deals purchasing weanlings or
yearlings. However, as the breeder continues to feed, maintain, and train the
horse...the purchase price goes up. Breeding is but one factor--training is
the other, and, without a doubt, is equally important. Together, they
normally form the basis for a sales price. Finally, you can pay for a
name...i.e.: a horse with a name, is the final factor influencing the purchase
price. Now that I've said all that -- we must not forget the basics of
marketing...the market place always determines the price.
