I think you are describing the EXCEPTIONS in our sport not the norm (as it
is in the Arab show world). I also don't believe endurance riders or ride
management would put up with that crap if they knew or saw that it was
happening.  I may be wrong...I've never been to a ride outside of Michigan.
 But I am hoping that others will confirm that belief.
