It also helps you to learn to use your legs to achieve the proper balance of 
both you and the horse (which includes rounding) and helps you to appreciate 
the fact that the real part of that comes from how you use your own rear to 
engage the horse's rear.  Even in dressage, far too much emphasis is put on 
"frame" (meaning how the horse achieves a certain "look") instead of what the 
horse is actually doing with his body.  If you use your seat and legs to 
drive his rear, the "frame" part will come, hands or no hands.
