I have a very thick sheepskin over the seat so it'd have to be left out in
a downpour to get wet...which isn't likely to happen. Considering I live
in rainy Washington and ride in the rain, I've never had the seat get wet.
I got my Big Horn for a bit less than the listed price, as did two of my
students. (Better deal when you buy more than one at a time.) Also, I
need a girthing system that has a V-billet type of girthing for one of my
geldings since the back always twists on him if it's just a straight girth
(weird back and *very* well sprung ribs <g> that have always been hard to
fit -- can only use a Wintec Pro dressage saddle on him and not the 2000,
for instance) -- the back cinch ring on the Big Horn works so that I can
cinch down the rear part of the saddle with the single latigo. Comfort
wise, both saddles will probably feel the same from the rider's view. Good
luck.
