Hi Linda:

My horse Rocky has flat soles, especially on his hind feet. I remember
when Jim Mitchell put that squeeze in pad stuff in R's feet for the Tevis,
and how his hind feet took hardly any compared to Jim's horse. Also,
whenever I've foamed easy boots on this horses feet, he only uses a tiny
portion of foam compared to my other horse (who has humongous feet and they
are a lot more concave).

I'll have to let you know if he comes up with any kind of bone, joint or
ligament problems. So far <knocking on wood> he's staying sound. He's
completed nearly 1000 miles this ride season, and has done the last 1700
miles without a pull. This is his third year of endurance, fourth if you
count LD's. He's got good hard feet, doesn't ever bruise and except for
trying that squirt in stuff at Tevis he's never had his back feet
padded. I do ride him with easyboots on the front feet, and I think that
has been a tremendous benefit for him. The only problem we have is in the
winter, when his feet are in the mud/snow/wet for weeks at a time and they
want to really spread out.....he's got one really corny foot that does
things the rest of 'em don't. ;^)

Happy Trails,
