Deb,

All I know so far (from the farrier) is what causes it, to much dew keeping
the feet wet all night and until 10am, the only way to find out what strain
of fungus it is is to have a scraping done by the Vet. and my farrier says he
sees this every year with lots of horses that are out all night, its so hot
here they eat most of the night and rest more during the day, thus keeping
feet wet (I have lots of grass). I also have 4 other horses here and none of
them have it, 3 with shoes, 1 without like the filly. It is some kind of
deficiency because he said hers was a pretty bad case, her outer hoof walls
were gone half way up the foot, I had never seen anything like this before
either or heard of the medication, you have to get it from a Vet. or I think
theres a catolog called Omaha Vet Supplies, don't know if you need
prescription for that. Its a deficiency problem and thats why I went to you
guys to see if you could shed any light on it, by the way of experiance. Oh
the filly is not tender footed at all, isn't that weird.

Sandy
