In response to Phil's comment, How very perceptive.  People are obsessed with instant gratification.

In my area, central Michigan, there is a horse "whisperer" offering her services in this area.  For $500 dollars, she will invite you and your horse to her house where she is holding a clinic.  Each horse in the clinic is led into the roundpen (seperately).  

Once the horse is in the round pen she ties one of the forelegs to the body and proceed to chase the horse around the pen until, exhausted, the horse eventually falls or can be "knocked" down.  She then invites the owner into the pen and tells them to pet their horse and climb on top of it.  She then unties the leg of the exhausted animal and pronounces the horse "trained and bonded with humans."

You may wonder how many clients this nut has, several. There are multiple people out there who have money and a couple of horses sitting in the pasture that they wish they could ride.  What they mean by "ride" is the ability to hop on the pasture potatos twice a year and ride the hellout of them with some trail riding budddies.  The horses don't take to this idea, so they are pronounced wild and in need of training.  Along comes your "horse whisperer."
