A friend of mine retired her gelding at 24; he still gives lessons but no
longer competes.  And my gelding's "uncle" is 21 and still competing, with
kids.  His sister is 20 and doing a full season plus the IAHA National
Championship CTR.  No real sign of slowing down.  Of course, she wasn't
trained and started until she was 12...
