I've done both.  And I can tell you most mulit-day people don't view the 
Tevis as the ultimate challenge.  I think its funny that you can tell someone 
you just came back from a 5 day 285 mile ride and when your all done with 
your story of adventures, they ask "So Have You Ever Done The Tevis."  I 
really can't speak for all multi-day riders but some of the top pioneer 
riders won't even consider going to the Tevis.  I know that because I've ask 
them.  They have different reasons but none that I heard were because they 
thought it to challenging.
