I tried this...rather then changing out my stirrup leathers (I was afraid I 
would not be able to get new ones thru) I took a hacksaw and just cut off 
most of the leather on the western style ones that are on my saddle...now 
they look just like a english stirrup leathers.  It has worked well for me 
and is very comfortable...has any body else tried this??
