Hi Steph,

before that Championship I thought that you are allowed to start with a
minimum of 14 years and a maximum of 21 years.
The maximum is ok, but at the price-giving there was a special price for the
youngest competitor, Marta Pujadas, who is 13 years old. So now I took the
following from the official invitation:
Juniors (year of birth 1985 and older) and young riders (year of birth 1978
and younger) are allowed to start. The minimum age of the riders is 14
years. Juniors, from the year in which they reach their 14th birthday, and
who are duly authorised by their National Federation, may take part in all
International Endurance Rides. (Article 825 FEI-Regulations - 13-year-olds
may start if their 14th birthday is in the year of the event). A rider that
has participated in a championship for seniors after 1st January 1999 will
not be permitted to compete in a championship for juniors and young riders
(Article 124, No 6 FEI Regulations).
So this is the FEI Regulation. But Marta also competed last year at the
trial!?!

Hope this helps,

Germany

P.S.: The Belgium team finished third in the open team competition and
second in the closed (the real European) Championship.
