Bonnie, I had air bags installed on my truck when I got my big GN trailer.
It has a weight of about 10,000 lbs empty so it really put a load on the
springs (even though it's a dually) when I hitched up. Anyway, if I'm
taking the big trailer out, then I fill up the airbags to maximum and it
REALLY supports the additional weight, the back end only drops down a few
inches. If I'm going to be pulling the smaller trailer, then I can let some
or all of the air out. It was a good solution for me.
Good luck!
