Hi all,
I am generally a lurker but feel compelled to post news on this historic ride.
This ride is celebrating its 29th year.  It is one of the few remaining single
loop trails in the country. This ride is also a TRUE test of endurance, for both
horse and rider!!! This is a tough ride!
Anyway, the point of my de-lurking is to advise you all that there is a strong
possibility that this may be the last year for this ride. Cindy Collins, the
current ride manager, has indicated that she will no longer manage this ride.
There are many obstacles in putting this ride on (it is a single loop trail, there
is an EXTREMELY small pool of volunteers available to help before, during and after
the ride, property owners, etc) Cindy has done an excellent job of revitalizing this ride and is again offering sterling silver belt buckles and really nice blankets for the top ten in the 100 and best condition in the 50. There have been some really nice folks who have managed this ride in recent years but, unfortunately, there have been some things that were neglected and some riders came away with negative feelings about
this ride. However, as I said, Cindy has tried really hard to bring this ride back
to its glory days. If you have ever thought about doing this ride (this weekend 7/17)
you might better think about doing it this year since it may never happen again.
