Sarahhhhhh.....please be careful honey!!  Elliot is recovering from a bowed 
tendon, be very careful not to do anything that could jeopardize his 
healing process.  De-spooking is all very good, but on the off chance that 
you find something that frightens him you're risking him straining or 
possibly getting into a wreck and exacerbating the problem.

Perhaps you could work on carrot stretches instead?  Use pieces of carrots 
(or other treats) and teach him to touch his nose to his hips.  You can 
also work on getting him to bend under his belly and do things like that.
