ride vetting

Personally, I do care who tells me whether my horse is fit to continue.  I
would rather have a vet tell me than a "talented endurance rider."  As a new
endurance rider, I don't want to rely on experienced (and how do you
determine that? have to have a whole new set of criteria to let a non-vet
judge a horses' fitness to continue) riders that I don't know and haven't
learned to trust.  I trust a vet more because they went to school
(presumably!) and have a degree.  I don't trust all vets, but I trust more
vets than just strangers.

I may look at it differently after being in this sport for awhile, but right
now.....

long considered that talented endurance riders can spot lame horses and
horses being stressed and riders that are making mistakes and are also
unaware of what is going on with their horse. We don't need to have
licensed vets as judges. All we need is a (licensed) treatment vet to
take care of the real problems when they get to be real problems (If
they do).
