It depends too on how many days in foal the mare is... "sometimes" the
embryo can be smaller than normal at 16 days and can"hide" and thus be
missed. {I deal with a mare that does this 99% of the time.. no use getting
her done until at least 30 -45 days}  I agree the ultra sound is as good as
the vet is. Fortunatly we have a vet who does embryo transfers alot.  If
your mare dosen't come back into season on time you may want to have her
ultra sounded again.
