RE: Cure for Thumps?

Title: RE: Cure for Thumps?

I'll have to look at the tube when I get home.  It has been advertised as the fastest absorbing electrolyte on the market because of the compounds that the electroltes are bound in (absorption within 3 minutes).  Hard to say if it is hype or truth, but my horses do better on Lyte Now than Enduralytes, Enduramax, and the "generic" apple flavored 'lytes.

I'll let you know what I find on the tube.

Someone else who is more of an expert on this will have to comment, but it is my
understanding that magnesium chloride (the form in Lyte-Now) is NOT readily
absorbable into the system, hence, you are NOT getting all you need.  It is not
just calcium or magnesium, but the FORM that it is in that is very important.

As for stomach problems with a great amount of electrolytes...have you tried
pro-bi or yogurt?  This seems to help significantly.

Also, WHEN you give electrolytes is VERY important.
