Re: RC: Age dating via .....

Dear Connie,

Not many, but I wish they would! I remember back in "the good old
days"( when AERC just started) riding with a friend(I think it was our
first 25 miler )and we were last. THEY were offering the great "rear
end of a horse " trophy. Since we were last anyway, we BOTH wanted it.
We walked, backed up, talked, etc.(also pretending we were NOT doing what
we were doing) to avoid crossing the finish line ahead of the other
one. Finally, I did, because we were going to lose the completion(plus
a lot of friends who had about had it with us) if someone didn't cross!
I've still not gotten over NOT having that cute trophy as they seemed to
have quit giving them out! What an incentive in the twenty-five milers
NOT to over ride your horse! Perhaps THIS is what we need reinstated to
keep the 25 mile rides slow and sane! Let's hear ilt for "more butt-end"
awards!
