number of tevis vs OD first times...

I think the one of the reasons why there are so many more 
first timers at tevis is due to the population and the sheer
number of riders in the california area.  It is a "local"
ride for a very large number of people.

on the completion rate - tevis finishes about 56%.  If I remember
correctly - a few years ago - everyone that finished OD was top
10 - for a completion rate of something like 25%. I know this 
was a tough year.
