There are at least 21 different clubs and organizations that hold CTR
rides.  IAHA is one of these.  They hold one National Endurance and CTR a
year.  This year the IAHA National Endurance ride  will be at the Swanton
Pacific ride Aug 28th.  The IAHA National CTR will be in Kansas Sept
3-5th.  IAHA is divided into 18 Regions and each one may have one
endurance and one ctr ride a year.  In Northern CA, Region III there
endurance ride will be at the Oakland Hills Endurance ride June 26th. 
The Region III CTR ride will be held in Sunol Ca, August 14, 1999.  They
can also have local CTR rides throughout the year and as many as they
wish to sanction.  There will be a local all breed CTR ride on Aug 14, in
Sunol, Ca.  It is the same day and place as the Region III Championship
ride but for those of you who have not qualified  or ride another breed
this is a good time to come and find out about IAHA.  This is only horse
judging on the condition of your horse.  No obstacles or stabling
restrictions.
There will be a Distance riding clinic for those of you who would like to
learn about riding in competition or just plain trail riding.  It will be
held in Sunol, Ca on July 10th.
This is a fund raiser for the new club Arabian Trail Riders Association. 
So please come out and support this new club.  We have a web site

I would like to Thank Heidi and Paul for a great ride at Sunriver near
Bend, Or.   This was the second local CTR ride this year in Oregon.  The
trails were great and the weather was beautiful and all the riders had a
great time.  They hope to put on a Region IV CTR ride this year in the
fall.
