Do you realize?

Do you all realize just how lucky we are to have this sport? Name me one
other sport where you help your opponent beat you! At OD for example. If
you didn't have something, someone was right there loaning it. People helped
me carry water, I helped people by meeting their riders with jugs at the
first vet stop. Food is shared. Glen (so sorry I can't remember his last
name) was out at McCoy's Ford at 9ish at night, after the riders he was
crewing for got pulled. Had just what my sickly rider needed. And ran to
get it! Kept asking if we needed anything, or if we wanted him to come to
Liberty Hall and help us. Roy from Canada was on top of Edinburg Gap with a
100 gallon water tank and hose. Anyone that wanted water, had it. He hosed
all the 100 milers that came through.
Jeannie Waldron was riding Calvary, and every vet check she left, people
cheered and encouraged her on.
