Boz type shapeable foam bars/panels?

Teresa Van Hove vanhove@ucar.edu
Hi all,

I am going thru the great saddle struggle this year. I finally
started some long overdue dressage work to learn how to round
Grey's frame & strengthen his back. But now that his back
is getting a little muscling my old saddle (OF) doesn't fit.
He really has an odd shaped back - High withers, but broad
shoulders and really flat on the top-line. Still fairly
sway-backed. I don't want to get a custom saddle made cuz I
hope that his back muscling will continue to develope, plus I
dont want to wait that long - I didn't plan on needing a new
saddle this year!

Do any of you have experience with the "sandable" foam bars
that Boz uses? Is their foam really unique? or could I just buy
similar foam and attach my own velcro to foam and saddle? Has
anyone ever gotten the Boz foam bars to use on a non-Boz saddle?
I wouldn't mind trying the Boz saddle, but again I don't want to
wait on getting the saddle.

Thanks,
Teresa
