How to get the weight off
I am looking for information/guidance on how to get weight off of a pasture
potato Arab. He is on pasture exclusively and is not being worked at this
time (somewhat long story).
However, I plan on putting him into light work within the next month and will
then continue to beef it up, and am wondering how much excercise it will take
(without putting him in a dry lot since I have none) to work some of the
weight off of him? He is not only overweight, but unfit also. Is it
unreasonable to expect him to drop any weight if my only option is to keep
him on pasture? He's not getting any grain now. I feel like this may be a
vicious cycle...
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
