I don't know of any such ride, but I'm forwarding

somebody else can help you.

There is a ride scheduled for 2001 which lasts 2 months
and goes from Missouri to California, but it doesn't sound
like the one you're asking about.

I am a librarian at the University of Arizona and I've received a
question about a "a transstate competitive horse race called, The Silver
Bullet (or other similar races)".  

I'm hoping that perhaps you can help me with this question.  Do you know
of a "Silver Bullet" race?
