"cow mats" are sold here to cover floors in dairy cow barns and would work
great in a wash area.  They are rubber, about 3/4" thick, and are usually 4
by 6' in size.  They are textured and quite anti slip.  The only draw back
is that they are rather heavy.  This is also a virtue as they stay where you
put them.
